  • Interim Professionals Hints and Tips

We’ve taken the time to understand the troubles job seekers go through to find their next job and decided to help simplify the convoluted processes and give the control directly back to you. And to make finding your next job even easier, we’ll be updating the InteriMarket platform with further feature-releases, so make sure you re-visit this page for updates on new functions, features and tips on how to use them for better job seeking and networking.

Here are some simplicity hacks to help you get the most out of job seeking:

    • Make sure your profile has the most up-to-date and relevant information possible, especially the bits that ensure 100% completeness. Your profile gets you noticed by talent seekers when you apply for a job or when they look for job seekers, so make it as informative and eye-catching as you can.

    • Think through your core competencies carefully and use the five options available to you well. Make sure your relevant competencies, strong-points and achievements stand out in your profile.

    • Highlight factual achievements where possible. If your job did not allow you to track any KPIs, qualify them with quick quotes from your recommendations.

You can search jobs based on the following criteria:

    • Keyword or job role

    • Core competencies

    • You can also conduct an advanced search which allows you to apply unique filters, such as location, duration, etc.

  • Recruiter Hints and Tips

As a recruiter, you’re advised to use your business email address when registering on InteriMarket. In addition, filling out all the relevant sections about your business is crucial to being recognised as a credible and reputable recruiter.

When advertising your smart jobs, we recommend you do the following for the best results:

    • Ensure you closely assess the core competencies of the role you’re placing and enter up to five competencies so candidates are matched accordingly. Core competencies is a key area we use to match the best candidate for the job.

    • Make sure your job description is less than 500 words with bullet points of Essential and Desirable Skills, Job Summary and Location(s) in the section provided. This makes your placement concise, effective and to the point and allows for better keyword/competencies searches and matches.

    • The field that describes personal attributes you would like your candidates to possess focuses on personal qualities and behaviours and help talent seekers find the “right fit” for job placements.

    Video and photo sections

      • Here you can either upload your picture or your company logo. For smaller firms, we recommend using a head shot of yourself for a more personal touch.

      • In terms of video for your profile, as a recruiter, we encourage you to upload a video that focuses on attracting and engaging the right talent by displaying what makes your company the right employment partner.

      • Is your company video longer than one-minute? That’s OK, recruiter videos get a little more time to show off - so get creative and start networking with these amazing marketing tools.

Invite your friends, colleagues and contacts to network with you on InteriMarket and watch your contact list grow with new prospects and opportunities. Click here for a quick demo. Alternatively, if you would like to speak with us, get in touch.

  • Profile builder and Hints and Tips

We all know the importance of social profiles and personal brands too well these days - but does that mean we’re doing it right? After years of experience within the recruitment industry and career-coaching our CEO, Bhumika Zhaveri, has some unique and simple insights that will help you make your profile stand out from the rest.

Follow these tips below and start making key connections:

    • Competencies: By filling out your core competencies with the most pertinent information, you’ll not only stand apart, but find the most accurate matches according to your skills. Pick your top five core competencies carefully as this will help you score well against the best jobs available. Remember to adapt your competencies as your skill set changes over time.

    • Achievements: 300 words only might seem restrictive, but allows you to think creatively about communicating your achievements effectively. InteriMarket is built around connecting people in meaningful ways. We’re not a resume database filled with dreary auto-biographies - communicate your message creatively and let your best achievements stand out.

    • Your Profile Photo: Add a photo that you feel represents your personal brand most accurately. Use a bright background, make sure you’re clearly visible and show the world that winning smile. Remember what we said about doing it right? So keep it simple, friendly and professional.

    • Your Profile Video: Video has become the communication tool of choice in the digital age. Using video to create a more engaging job seeker profile can really boost your chances of securing more jobs. Keeping your videos short (about 1 minute’s length), friendly and concise will let talent searchers, connections and possible contacts take notice and create an awareness around your profile.

Add some personal information to round your profile off nicely; outlining personal achievements, causes etc. Finally, invite your friends, colleagues and contacts and start growing your professional network. Contact us for more information or learn how you can get a free demo.

  • How to invite and connect with contacts on InteriMarket.

    Dear users,

At InteriMarket we want to encourage you to network more and benefit from the experience of others by connecting with more people and inviting your connections to the platform.

In order to invite connections, click on My Network in the header and select the Invite Contacts option. You can then invite your Gmail, Slack or Linkedin contacts through a simple intuitive process.

Inviting contacts is a 2 step process:

Step 1 – is connecting to your account if you choose Gmail, LinkedIn or Slack from where you wish to invite colleagues and friends.

Step 2 – is slightly different for LinkedIn, where you are asked to attach the downloaded CSV in the same format – you can always remove the contacts you do not want to invite by selection or deselecting them once they have been uploaded on InteriMarket.

As per the screen below you will be asked to first download the CSV

And then immediately you can upload the same file on step 2:

Here you can upload the file in step 2 as it is, and click upload.

Once clicked upload, all your contacts will be displayed as below:

Here you can choose to either invite all selected or unselect all and click on the ones you want to invite. Once you have clicked on the ones you like simple press the invite button.

You can also connect with other people on the platform by searching for the people you know by clicking on Add Connections option in My Network -> Connections or by connecting with the suggested contacts.

  1. 1. I’m not a contractor or a consultant. Can I still build a profile and network?

Yes, absolutely! Connecting and networking is free for all users. We encourage people from all backgrounds to connect and network, especially if you’re thinking of moving into interim consulting at some point in the future. InteriMarket is the ideal place for you to network, gain insights, participate in knowledge-sharing, and for recruiters and job-seekers alike to grow their professional profiles.

  2. 2. I am new to contracting. What is the legal process regarding setting up my company etc.?

Welcome to the world of contracting! Firstly, we should highlight that we are a niche platform focused on longer term i.e. one week+consultants and contractors in white collar positions. So if that’s you, or if that describes the talent you’re looking for, InteriMarket is the right place for you. Below are a few links that will help you get started with setting up your company:

Please note that we’re not experts in helping set up companies, so always refer to the links above as a guide and take legal advice as required from appropriate resources.

  3. 3. I have been a consultant for years and have my own network. Why should I join iM?

We’re pleased to hear that you have a reliable network. InteriMarket is here to help grow your existing network and see to it that you derive even more value from it. Well-connected members often become thought-leaders on our platform thanks to their depth of insight, helping others through their knowledge and experience and further extending their reach in the process.

We are a niche platform focused on building an ecosystem for better networking, collaboration and talent management, so moving your experience and network to iM will only add to your profile. Plus, we are looking to eliminate CVs and enabling consultants and experts to build their profiles as a virtual business card on steroids.

  4. 4. I am a model, plumber, construction worker. Can I still join InteriMarket?

InteriMarket’s services currently focus on role categories that include Interim Consultants and Contractors within the white collar sector.

  5. 5. Which additional services are you developing to help job seekers and recruiters?

We’re continually enhancing our platform with new features for our networkers, job seekers and recruiters. Watch out for announcements of new features and enhancements. Our vision is to build an online ecosystem for B2B and B2C concerns to better network, collaborate, source and manage talent through InteriMarket.

  6. 6. How is iM different than other job boards?

iM isn’t another a job board. We’re a free networking and collaboration platform for job seekers and users who want to enhance their professional profiles and elevate their personal brands by showcasing their talent.

Our biggest differentiator is that we are committed to helping companies, and interims, eliminate outdated CVs, processes and talent sourcing incumbencies that hamstring the process of connecting employers and employees.

  7. 7. How is iM different to LinkedIn?

InteriMarket has the same premises as LinkedIn regarding networking and collaboration. However, we are HUGELY different in the sense that we focus exclusively on Interim professional placements. We’re also focused on helping professionals evolve their profiles through skills and strengths-based profiling. iM is banishing dreary CVs entirely to help great talent find great opportunities efficiently.

  8. 8. We recruit through various sources and don’t feel we struggle with finding suitable talent. Why do we have to join iM?

We understand that there are lots of tools available to recruit talent and that you may have potentially invested in some longer term solutions. But what makes us unique is that we are leading the way in helping interim professionals find the best jobs out there.

We offer the first month free to you as a recruiter, so you can post as many jobs as you like and contact as many professionals as required. So start building your talent sourcing agency’s network now and uncover a new source of talent on the market.

In the longer run, you’ll find that we’ve not only helped you reduce your hiring costs by 50% - 60%, but also your hiring time by the same percentage.

  9. 9. I would like some career-advice before my next project. Can iM help me?
  10. 10. I hate CVs, but how do you plan on making it better?

Your initial basic profile focuses on your core competencies and achievements and highlights your strongest skills and focus areas. Our platform’s candidate matching technology correlates key profile information with the right opportunities to quickly and accurately match the right candidates with the right opportunities.

Unlike CVs, which traditionally make it difficult to get a good sense of a candidate, iM provides a dynamic platform that includes video to help gig and talent seekers connect with opportunities in a fresh and relevant way. You may still continue to use your CV whilst we work on our advanced profiling mechanism, but we are committed to helping interim professionals present themselves better.

  11. 11. I am interested in knowing how you will eliminate the use of CVs entirely?

We want to lead the way in practical and real time recruitment where talent is hired based on their skills, strengths and failures assessment. Experience is important but transferrable skills especially for interim talent is more important as we believe that interim professionals have array of skills that they do not even get to demonstrate due to the traditional ways of recruiting.

Currently we have basic profiling on the platform, next we are also developing advanced profiling which we plan to integrate with lots of interesting and fun ways to not only help present the talent but also help organisations recruit better through advanced machine learning algorithms, iM will be able to connect candidates and opportunities with more accuracy and increased speed.

In the future the platform will also allow users to download their profiles as presentations and enable all sort of scores for other interactive learning platforms out there.

  12. 12. Why do your call your jobs “Smart Jobs”? What’s the difference?

The difference between ours and other platforms and their job boards, is that we use core competencies and skills to match the needs of all stakeholders.

  13. 13. I am a temp or freelancer with part-time interim work. How does being a part of iM help me?

You can network and engage with the right group of people as all our users mostly are interim professionals. So whether you are looking for knowledge-sharing or collaboration, this is the place to be. Also, iM is free, so you don’t have to worry about any overheads.

  14. 14. I have a great idea to make iM even better. Who do I contact?
  15. 15. I would like to know more about your platform before I spend my time creating a profile. I don’t want to waste my time!

Of course, we understand that. We are a niche platform focused on interim professionals and recruiters only. You can check out more information under the sections How it works and Hints and Tips to see how iM can help and learn more. If you would like to have a chat feel free to drop us a message through our contact form.
